This beautiful Raukaraka  Pounamu carving by Ross Crump comes with a drift wood stand and can also be worn. The Manaia is a supernatural being, part bird, part man part fish. Moving in and between these worlds it is a talisman to protect and provide. This pounamu is approximately 6.5 cm tall and 9 cm in width. The driftwood  stand is 22 cm long.
I love how the amphibious feature of this shapeshifter is carved as a Koru reminding us that everything changes and we can learn resilience. This Manaia reminds me that we can grow through seeking new adventures and ways of being and of creating sanctuary within ourselves and for others.
